A/N: For P100 prompt 600: Past Prompts 49) Sacrifice. Angst and deathfic. I think my muse still thinks it is Halloween. Ye have been warned!


In this new world, those who fell behind had to be left. Experience showed anything else didn’t save them, it just brought death to anyone trying to help them. The creatures following them never rested and only in the shelters did life stand any chance.

Becker was a hardened soldier, he thought he could cope with that harsh reality. Then his lover fell and broke his leg and Becker had to leave him behind. Duty demanded it and so did his lover.

Pulling the trigger might be mercy, but it was still the hardest thing Becker ever had to do.
