Becker cursed Burton and New Dawn as he glared at the cars left dead and abandoned. They were blocking his way back to the ARC, back to James. He hadn’t wanted to leave James there, even when his lover had finally ordered him to do so. The thought of James being all alone at the ARC, injured and in pain, had Becker gripping the steering wheel until his knuckles turned white.
“Hold on!”
Not that Becker waited for a response, he just mounted the kerb and sped along the thankfully deserted pavement. He needed to get back to James now.
