Lester had encountered many pests over his career, and most of them were human. Journalists who insisted the public always had the right to known everything. Scientists who demanded more equipment, promising data this time, yet failing to produce any meaningful, yet alone useful, results.

The worst, in Lester’s considerable opinion, where his political masters who expected him to produce answers with insufficient funding and with both hand-tied behind his back.

Lester had found the best way to deal with any of them was the same – a cold glare, a sharp tongue and knowing where all the bodies were buried.
