Two children stared at the metal and crystal object lying abandoned in the dirt, their game forgotten.
“I don’t think we should touch it.”
“Scared?” the girl taunted.
“No! It just looks… all sci-fi.”
“Pick it up.”
“Why don’t you?”
“Because I said you should.”
“Maybe I don’t want to.”
“Too scared?”
“Not.”
“Let me see.”
“No, I want to look at it.”
“Please, James. Pleaasse.”
“Chrissie…. Don’t cry. Here.” The girl snatched it. “I don’t think you should touch that.”
“I do.” She pressed a button “Ohh,” she said when a shattered mirror appeared.
“Chrissie!”
“I want to see.”
