Stephen watched the elephant herd amble past from the tree-top lodge they were staying in. He sighed deeply when he noticed the armed guards shadowing the herd.
“Stephen?” James’ arms wrapped around him.
“You know we might be the last generation to see elephants in the wild.” Stephen said, turning in James’ arms. “And it’s not just elephants. Tigers, rhinos, caimans, sharks, the list is endless. Humanity is driving them all to extinction.” He gave a bitter laugh. “The sixth mass extinction and we can’t blame nature this time.”
“We do what we can.”
Stephen nodded. “But is it enough?”
