Title: Distracted
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: James Lester, (Danny Quinn)
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For P100 prompt 575: Too Hot To Handle. Meaning: Literally too hot to pick up or touch.
Lester always baked after a hard day; he found the act of measuring and mixing ingredients helped to defuse the stresses of the day. But not today.
Earlier events played on repeat through his mind, although not the anomaly or the near-disaster that had brought with it. No, it was Danny coming back, all bloodied and battered and... He ran a hand through his hair as he recalled what happened next.
The oven bleeped and Lester grabbed the cake tins, barely managing to drop them onto the side. He swore as he ran his burnt fingers under the cold tap.
