Lester eyed the banners and balloons festooning the mammoth's enclosure with distaste; although Monty did appeared to have a fascination with the balloons, batting at them with his trunk. “Don't you think this is a little... extreme?”

“It is?” Connor looked pointedly at the trolley Lester was pushing. “And the cake you made for him isn't?”

“That's... Connor, that's for Monty!”

“Still tastes good,” Connor said innocently, or as innocent as he could with buttercream on his fingers. He licked them before worriedly asking, “What's in it, James? It's safe, isn't it.”

“Well...”

“James!”

“It's for Monty, Con.”

“Oh, yeah.”
