Captain Hilary Becker knew he was a disappointment to the General, never quite good enough for his father no matter what he did or how well he succeeded. He knew why too, but so what if he was gay.

Even attending Sandhurst, being awarded both the Sword of Honour and the Queen's Medal and becoming one of the youngest captains in the Army, hadn't thawed his father's feelings towards him. He bitterly remembered overhearing his father's comment during his passing out parade, that “That boy had better not have slept his way to first place.” Once more dismissing Becker's achievements and it had made Becker try all the harder to win his father's favour.

It had only been when he'd met his life-partner that Becker had realised his father would never accept him or his sexuality, but he no longer cared. James loved him and that was all Becker needed.

*nods* Becker just needed to understand he didn't need his father's approval. He'll certainly be very happy with Lester. *Lester glares at you for hugging his boyfriend* ;)

Becker is trying but it is hard to forget. Becks is happy though, very, very happy with James.
