A/N: For P100 prompt 526: Matt Anderson, 52 weeks of Primeval and my Primeval Bingo Card (round 9) prompt: In the Tunnels / Under the Ground.
Matt had spent most of his life underground, the only place safe from the hellish world above. He had become a scavenger, searching for anything which might make their survival marginally easier.
Scavenging was dangerous work – between the toxic storms and the predators – but Matt knew it held a greater danger. The predators were cunning, they were known to follow scavengers back to the shelters. To wait at the entrance until someone got careless and then...
Matt had been to shelters which had fallen – what was meant as a place of refuge and safety had instead become a deadly trap.
