A/N: For the P100 challenge 491: In The Woods. For my Primeval bingo card (round 8) prompt: The Forest of Dean (14/25). Thanks go to Fred for casting her eyes over it for me.


He'd come to this same patch of woodland every weekend and any evening he'd had free. He had to, people didn't just disappear, they didn't vanish without a trace, as if they'd never existed.

There had to be some clue, some sign about what had happened to Helen. Something the police had missed, something that, if only he could find it, would tell him what had happened to her and where she was.

He needed to know if she was alive or dead. He needed to know if he had to move on or if he should wait for her.
