Lester descended the trellis before dropping into a crouch, his every sense alert for both guards and dogs. Not that the dogs would be a problem.

He edged around the house to his chosen escape route, cursing silently when he heard the splashing and laughter from the swimming pool.

He'd be spotted if he tried to escape that way, but when the alarm was raised behind him, Lester knew it was his only option. He smiled as he Shifted and the large, dark-furred wolf slipped through the shadows.

In the morning, he'd just make up his escape for the report.
