Christine Johnson smiled contentedly as she oversaw her soldiers take over the ARC with the minimum of fuss.

As she raised her voice to informed her new staff of the change of management, her eyes fell on the proud back of James Lester as he was escorted from the building.

It was just such a pity the man couldn't – wouldn't - bend to her will. James would have been an asset to Christine's brave, new world. One day dear James would rue his missed opportunity to share in her dream instead of being just another casualty of her rise to power.

Knowing how it ends for all the power hungry women in Primeval this fic is rather sad. Excellent character study.
