A/N: For the P100 Challenge 154 Past Prompts No 107 Caged. From my wolfverse series, James is a werewolf (and not a happy one, here). Continues in The Kindness Of Strangers and is a prequel of sorts to Good Boy. Thanks to Fred for looking at it for me.

James prowled restlessly around his prison cell. His paws padding silently as he circled around and around.

He cursed Nick for leaving him here, even though he knew his lover had no other choice.

Mostly though, James cursed himself.

So lost in the thrill of roaming as the wolf, he had forgotten to be careful.

And look where it had left him.

Locked in a cage all alone.

The other inmates had all backed away and cowered from the predator within him, sensing he was far more powerful than they were.

But he was just as caged as they were.
