A/N: For the P100 challenge 460: Bird Watching and my Primeval Bingo Card (round 8) prompt: Ravens, Crows and Birds of Ill Omen (6/25). Set in my Under The Moonlight Wolfverse series. Thanks go to Fred for casting her eye over it for me.
Shadow was enjoying the opportunity to let all the worries he had to think about as a human slide away, if only for now.
A rustle in the trees above him had Shadow looking up for the squirrel. He paused, one forepaw raised as a sense of foreboding swept through him, raising the fur on the back of his neck.
A harsh kraa heralded a black shape taking wing, heading straight in Nick's direction.
Foreboding turned to fear and Shadow let out a howl as he raced towards Nick. He didn't know how, but he knew danger threatened his mate.
