Word Count: 246
Characters: Hilary Becker/Tom Ryan
Rating: 12

A/N: From fredbasset's birthday and her prompt: Ryan/Becker and steep learning curve. Hope you've had a great day. Thanks go to fififolle for the beta, cheers m'dear.
Becker was exhausted, grimy and fucking pissed off. He knew Ryan had warned him about what he'd face at the ARC but, well, he hadn't really believed him.
He didn't know who was the worst. Sir James bloody-stick-up-his-arse Lester, with his snark and supercilious looks, Cutter and his motley band of civilians who refused to listen to his orders or the soldiers he'd taken control of, always off on bloody tea-breaks. Bloody hell, if he'd had Ryan's lads he might have had a chance, but they were needed elsewhere.
“How was it?” Ryan asked as he limped into the kitchen, his eyes widening before he tugged Becker into a kiss.
“Bloody terrible.” Becker ran a hand through his marred hair and pulled back a step, adding at Ryan's look, “You'll get dirty.”
“Bit of dirt never did anyone harm.” Ryan eyed Becker before adding, “Who is the problem?”
“All of them.” Becker sat down heavily in a nearby chair.
“Right.” Ryan grinned. “Let me finish up tea and then we'll go through how to handle all of them.”
“Even my useless men?” Becker had to ask.
“Don't know them,” Ryan admitted. “But I'm sure you can cope with them once Cutter and Lester fall in line.”
“How did you manage that?”
“I thumped Cutter onto his arse,” Ryan said with a grin.
“And Lester?”
“Ah, he's a tricky one,” Ryan admitted. “Go shower and then we'll talk war.”
“Join me?” Becker asked, waggling his eyebrows.
“Always.”
