A/N: For the P100 challenge 447: Winter is Coming
Definition: Used to warn that hard times are coming, usually after a period when it seems everything is going well. That all success is fleeting.
He always had a backup plan, it was the first thing his mentor had taught him. He still remembered the words the man had uttered: “Winter always comes, Lester. Always be watchful and be ready for it. Trust no one.”
He snorted, he'd never seen the man's betrayal; but a bullet in his chest, the scar it left was reminder enough.
Now he always had a backup plan and a backup for that plan. And if Christine bloody Johnson thought the ARC was hers, he smiled coldly, well she'd also learn that winter always come when you least expected it.
