The man sneered. He wasn't going to scrabble for scraps in the rubble.

He yelped when he was thrown against a wall, struggling ineffectively against his captor. “Who do you think you are? Let go of me!”

“Becker!”

The man turned, his smile fading at the cold look on Lester's face.

“I don't give a fuck what you were or what privileges you think that gives you,” Lester drawled, his eyes scanning the ruins of what had been London. “You'll pull your weight.” He nodded at the chittering shapes moving out of the shadows. “Or we'll leave you to them.”
