Connor grinned at Abby as they held hands and stepped through the anomaly. They were finally home and he couldn't wait to see everyone.
The squeal of tyres and the black-clad men clambering out, guns at the ready, wasn't a surprise. Seeing Danny Quinn was; although Connor had always hoped the man would make it back.
“Cutter will be pleased to see you.”
“Cutter?” Connor almost stumbled over the word. Could Nick Cutter be alive?
“Helen's been trying to find you both for months.” Danny smirked at them. “Been driving Johnson up the wall, but you know how she is.”
