Lester sighed as he finished reading the report. He had hoped for better news and knew exactly how his lover would react to it.

He informed Lorraine not to contact him unless the world was ending, and headed for home. He realised as soon as he saw the tension in his lover’s back that he knew.

Lester took him in his arms, pressing a kiss against his neck. “Don't give up, Tom.”

“I'll never be good enough again, James.”

“Rubbish,” Lester informed Ryan firmly. “Now, sit down and I'll make your favourite.”

Ryan grabbed Lester's wrist. “Thanks, James. Love you.”
