Definition: Inspiration – the act or process of inhaling, breathing in.

James' breath came in painful gasps as he slogged closer to the motionless form, hoping it was Connor. He ignored the tightening in his chest as he forced himself to move faster when he realised it really was Connor lying there. His knees buckled and he landed hard beside his husband before reaching out a shaking hand to turn Connor over.

He held his breath as he sought any sign Connor was alive; sighing with relief when as he watched his lover breathing, smiling at every inhale and exhale Connor made.

Now, all he needed was to get Connor home.
