Primeval drabble: Anticipation

A/N: For the P100 challenge 362: Anticipation. Part of my Making An Impression drabble series. Thanks go to Fred for looking it over for me, cheer.


Burton smiled, once the minister heard about Lester's invasion of New Dawn... but first he needed to show Lester just how wrong he was. Once Convergence started, once New Dawn initialised and saved the world from the anomalies and harnessed them to provide unlimited power...

An alarm sounded and Burton checked the readings. “No!” He spun towards Lester. “What have you done!”

Lester brushed imaginary lint from his sleeve before fixing Burton with a disdainful look. “Is something wrong, Philip?”

Burton stared at the readings. “This wasn't supposed to happen.”

Lester sighed. “I did tell you not to trust Helen.”
