Rex chirped softly when he spied the unguarded food. He swooped into the odd cave, bending his head to nibble a leaf before chirping in alarm when he was plunged into darkness.

He spun around but there was no way out.

He called out but no one responded.

He pawed at the cold walls before wincing at the screech his claws produced.

He curled up in an attempt to keep warm but it was so cold, far colder than he had ever felt before. It was a relief when he stopped shivering, for all he wanted to do was sleep.

I really hated Caroline after that. Never liked her; her smile was too much like a sneer.
