Danny was enjoying himself, even though he knew the plans he was discussing with Becker and Matt were important. He almost jumped when the door was wrenched open forcibly to bounce off the wall. Lester stood in the doorway, seething with anger and growled without preamble, “Are we ready?”

“Guv?” Danny tried to reason with his furious boss. “We need more time.”

Lester turned on him, eyes full of anger. “Are. We. Ready. Quinn?”

Danny swallowed before nodded, releasing a breath when Lester turned and strolled away. “Bloody hell, I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him.”
