A/N: For the P100 challenge 334: Autumn Colours. Part 25 of my Strange Bedfellows drabble series and follows from Someone To Lean On.

Two of the three men staggering from the bunker were surprised and suspicious of their easy escape from Helen's clutches. A quick examination of their surroundings revealed a clear trail amongst the fallen leaves that littered the ground.

They paused, the trail might lead them to an anomaly and safety... it would also be the first place Helen would look for them once she realised they were missing. Lyle nodded towards the trail when the clone kicked at a pile of leaves, smiling at the cloud of red and gold that fluttered around him and leaving an obvious bare patch.

They're going to struggle to be either quick or discreet, I think.

Probably as James can't move fast and the leaves somewhat hamper being discreet. But... well, we'll have to wait for the next prompt to see what happens next ;)

Thanks for reading.

The clone doing something so carefree in context of this is rather poignant.

Even though it's a dangerous situation, it's cute that the clone enjoyed kicking the leaves. Lovely.

Great contrast between Lyle and Lester's fear and the clone's playing with the leaves. Nice use of the prompt.

So sweet that the clone has a moment of freedom to enjoy the colours of the leaves, but I'm terribly suspicious about the easy escape O_o
