A/N: For the P100 challenge 333: Past Challenges and 186: Someone to lean on. Part 24 of my Strange Bedfellows drabble series and follows Taking A Chance.


James' smile when he saw Lyle became a frown when he noticed the clone. “Jon?”

“He's with me.” Lyle shrugged at James' quirked eyebrow. “I'll explain later. How about we get out of here?”

“An excellent idea, except I doubt I can.” James paused before looking Lyle straight in the eye. “Jon, get out of here before Helen realises you're missing.”

Lyle shook his head and beckoned to the clone. “Fuck that, James, I'm not leaving you here with that bitch.” They helped James to his feet and supported him as they began their somewhat slow escape from Helen's clutches.
