Connor was pottering around feeding Sid and Nancy when he sensed the sudden hush behind him. He turned, cursing when he realised he'd left the university offers on the table that morning. Right where James would seen them as he made dinner.

Right where James had seen them and read them, where he was looking at them with a look on his face that Connor didn't recognise at first, before he realised it was defeat.

“James?” Connor walked up and pulled his lover in for a kiss. “They mean nothing, all I see is you. All I want is you.”
