Connor felt as if he was watching Wimbledon all over again, what with James and Philip exchanging barbed comments as if they were in a rally for the Cup.

“Face reality, James. Connor chose me over you.”

“Really? You failed to replace me, even when I was... missing. And now, he's got no need to settle for... second best.”

The sheer disdain dripping from James' words had Connor give a quiet cheer, although it died when he noticed the hate-filled look Philip gave James as he left. “This isn't over, James.”

“Not yet,” James murmured softly. “But it will be.”

Oh, oh, James you'd better watch your back or maybe have Connor cover it for you... **smirks** This is a shivery chapter. I may havce to go back and re-read this from the beginning. I do not remember Connor "choosing" Philip. Wasn't he drugged or something?
