James pushed on the doors through which he knew the anomaly lay but they remained stubbornly closed. He rattled them, hearing the chain on the other side. Fuck! Didn't anyone here obey Health and Safety? This was a bloody fire door, it shouldn't have been barred.

James froze, the hairs on the back of his neck standing on end. He turned and swore as the creature prowled towards him. All his intelligence and knowledge had proven useless against the raw power of nature.

No! He wasn't ready to give up, his eyes darting frantically about for another option.

Any option.
