“Connor! Look out!”

Connor spun back at Abby's cry, just in time to see a blur of golden fur and sharp teeth leap straight at him. He yelped and turned to run, but felt something crash into him. All the air was expelled from his lungs as he fell heavily.

James' fingers were white-knuckled where they clenched the back of Jess' chair as they listened to the feeds from the anomaly. His fears grew as he heard the sounds of shouts, screams, roars and the cracks of EMDs.

When silence fell, James' voice was strained as he cried out, “Connor!”
