A/N 2: The last part *meep* of my Dreams Of Yesterday drabble series, which started with prompt 193 posted on the 15th January 2011. The series consists of 104 prompts, 112 posts and 144 drabbles. and paws crossed next week's prompt isn't perfect for the series ;)


James woke in the night, still expecting danger at any unexpected sound. He listened intently before smiling and quietly making his way downstairs.

“They woke you up too?”

James almost jumped at Abby's voice before nodding and leading the way to the kitchen, smiling at the sight of his sons whispering and trying to be quiet as they fed the cub.

“Isn't it past your bedtime?” he enquired, smiling when his guilty looking sons spun around and the cub whined as his leftover turkey disappeared.

“But, daddy, Wolfie was hungry.”

James looked at the begging cub and couldn't resist him.

"I'll make the sandwiches if you do the drinks."

James shot Abby a look, but she merely raised an eyebrow and he finally nodded. He'd learnt when not to argue with her and, well, how could he say no to his sons or Wolfie? He heated up the milk for the hot chocolate while Abby used some of the turkey his sons hadn't yet fed to the cub.

When James sat on the floor with his sons and Abby, Wolfie curled against him as he fed him some of his sandwich, he knew there was nowhere else he'd rather be.
