“I'm perfectly capable of walking.”

“Not with those burns, James. You heard the doctors, no walking until they've healed”, Abby's voice was the firm tone she had learnt to use to get him to agree with her. “Do you really want to argue when your boys are waiting?”

Abby knew how much James had longed to see them and he scowled at her underhand tactics even as he allowed her to wheel him across the airport.

“Dad!”

James looked up at William's cry and grinned as his sons pelted towards him. He knew he was finally home when they hugged.
