Primeval drabble: Thoughts On A Future Predator

Title: Thoughts On A Future Predator
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: James Lester, Dave
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For the P100 challenge 286: Fossils. Part of my Dreams Of Yesterday drabble series and follows on from Frustrated. Thanks go to Fred for looking it over, cheers m'dear.

James found himself wondering about his sanity as he watched the future predator gouge the earth in frustration. He was lying helpless in front of a savage killer with only a dubious control clamp keeping it at bay, surrounded by a jungle full of hungry creatures, and the only thing he found himself thinking about was how much trouble the future predator would cause if it turned up in the fossil record.

Bloody hell, maybe he was hurt worse than he'd thought – but then again, considering he couldn't crawl, let alone stand up – maybe that wasn't a surprise.

Oh, *meep*.
I'd much rather think that it's simply because he's been infected with Cutter's ideas *g*
Please to fix soon? *puppy eyes*

[identity profile] knitekat.livejournal.com 2012-10-25 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry.
Hee, he's probably had Nick bending his ear enough on the subject for it to have sunk in, no matter what he tells himself and Nick ;)

I hope to, but it all depends on the prompts and the muse

Thanks for reading.

Poor Lester. Hopefully he'll get a kindly prompt soon that allows him to escape and get back to Abby

[identity profile] knitekat.livejournal.com 2012-10-26 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
*nods* I'm still being mean to him. James says 'yes, please', he and the cub would love to be back with Abby.

Thanks for reading.

Boy this is tense!

[identity profile] knitekat.livejournal.com 2012-10-26 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Good to know it work. James is hoping for a less tense prompt.

Thanks for reading.

[identity profile] knitekat.livejournal.com 2012-10-26 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely. James is not enjoying the eek-ness of the prompts.

Thanks for reading.

Lester in a tight situation! Still I have every faith.

[identity profile] knitekat.livejournal.com 2012-10-27 01:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Lester definitely is, but he's been in tight situations before and survived. He appreciates the vote of confidence.

Thanks for reading.

Lester would be thinking something practical like that! Fingers crossed things start looking up for him!

[identity profile] knitekat.livejournal.com 2012-10-27 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
*nods* Lester is nothing if not practical. He would very much like things to look up for him.

Thanks for reading.

[identity profile] lsellersfic.livejournal.com 2012-10-27 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I suspect Lester's brain is distracting him for his own good!

[identity profile] knitekat.livejournal.com 2012-10-27 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Possibly, but he'd prefer it if his brain came up with a way out of his current situation.

Thanks for reading.

[identity profile] kristen-mara.livejournal.com 2012-10-28 08:39 am (UTC)(link)

Eeeep. I like Lester's thought processes here. And the controller of the clamp must be around somewhere...

[identity profile] knitekat.livejournal.com 2012-10-28 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry. Glad you liked Lester's thoughts. Um... *vbeg* depending on prompts, of course

Thanks for reading.
