A/N: For the P100 challenge 285: Frustrated. Part of my Dreams Of Yesterday drabble series and continues from The Day Just Got Worse. Thanks go to Fred for looking it over for me.

James held his breath, his eyes wide as the creature slunk towards him. His attention riveted on it, he almost yelped when something cold pressed against him before realising it couldn't be the predator.

James cuddled the trembling cub close and watched the predator pause and scuff the ground. He couldn't understand why it hadn't attacked until he noticed the control clamp blinking dully on its head.

He sighed in relief before tensing again as the future predator let out a scream of pure frustration. The clamp wouldn't keep him alive if another predator decided to investigate the creature's calls.

Poor James goes through the wringer in this verse doesn't he?

Great drabble. I wasn't expecting that twist.

*nods* I've been rather mean to the poor boy in the series

Glad you liked it, James was very happy about the twist.

Very nice and utterly eerie.
And bless James for cuddling the cub; poor little feller!

Glad you liked it and good to know it worked.

Aww, James had to cuddle the cub - especially as he knows Dave won't attack him, he's not sure about the cub's safety.

Thanks for reading.

Phew! They need to get out of there pronto! Ooh, but what are those things doing there and who has put a limiter on them? The plot thickens!

Definitely. James would love to, but he can't really move at the moment. Hee, that would be telling and probably depends on the next prompt(s)

Thanks for reading.

Hee, good to know it worked. *nods* James certainly hopes it is a reprieve, but he's still worried.

Thanks again for the beta and for reading.

Good to know it worked, poor James would love it not to be scary and tense. The cub too, but he was happy being cuddled.

Thanks for reading.

James agrees with both the comments. He was also wondering how he was going to get out of it and hasn't forgiven you for putting him in that situation to begin with ;)

Thanks for reading.

*Sighing in relief that the clamp stopped the creature from eating James*

*Shudders that another creature might still be out there*

Very chilling!

Sorry ;) There are definitely creatures out there - James and the cub are in dinosaur-filled jungle - but it is whether any of them investigate the scream *vbeg*

Thanks for reading.
