A/N: For the P100 challenge 281: This Means War. Part of my Dreams Of Yesterday drabble series and continues from Family Ties. Sorry, but this is the prompt's fault. Thanks go to Fred for looking it over for me, cheers m'dear.

A low growl built in the cub's throat as he stood in front of his daddy, his fur was all fluffed up and his ears flat against his skull as the footsteps approached ever closer.

His heart pounded in his little chest and his tail curled between his hind-legs but he refused to abandon his post and abandon his daddy.

If anyone thought they'd hurt his daddy with him there, they'd face his teeth first. He was quite prepared to fight to protect his daddy, just as his daddy had fought to save him.

He growled as the vegetation parted.

Lovely but eek! I'm hoping the vegetation has parted to reveal Abby or a medic or just someone of a friendly persuasion standing there rather than anything that might hurt the dear little brave cub or Lester!

*nods* The cub says he is lovely, he is also being a very brave cub for his daddy. Um, if it isn't, poor Lester might be in trouble but it all depends on the next prompt.
