Title: Refusing To Surrender
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: James Lester
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For the P100 challenge 275: Faster, Higher, Stronger. Part of my Dreams Of Yesterday drabble series and continues from Determination. Thanks go to Fred for casting her eye over this.
Even though every step sent a spike of pain along his nerves, James knew he couldn't stop. If he did he'd collapse and he couldn't, wouldn't surrender while he still drew breath.
The cub was depending on him for survival and then there was Abby, he knew she'd wait for him and he wouldn't be responsible for stranding her in the past.
His boys needed him as well; they had already lost their mother and he wouldn't be the cause of more pain to them.
James gritted his teeth and concentrated on putting one foot in front of the other.
