Title: Continuing The Mission
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: James Lester
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For the P100 challenge 274: Running Late. Part of my Dreams Of Yesterday drabble series and continues from Plan B.
James knew his team would've kept to the planned schedule; but he'd been delayed by the lockdown and was running late.
He carefully sneaked past the now alert guards to reach his goal. Even knowing the timers were set, James still took his time to disable security – one mistake and the vault would deadlock.
Finally, he'd retrieved the target and could make his way to the pick-up point. With time ticking away, he knew he'd have to make a dash for safety.
He heard the yells of the guards and then the dull whump of the explosions, closing fast.
