Connor didn't like the conclusion his mind had drawn from the facts, but if he wanted James back he saw little alternative.

Assuming, of course, that Philip was involved in James' disappearance. If he wasn't... no, all the evidence pointed to him – Philip wanted Connor to finish the project and then there was the kiss – and James had stood in the way of both.

Connor took a deep breath. He could do this, for James. All he had to do was feed Philip's ego and he'd tell him everything.

He hoped.

But for James, Connor would risk all.
