Stephanie sat beside James' bedside, blinking back her tears as she looked at his battered form. The steady beeps from the machines monitoring him comforted her; although the amount of equipment surrounding him scared her like nothing else had.

She had to be strong, and not only for herself. James had always been there for her, he would be again. She knew it.

“Come back to me, love.” She gently grasped his hand and squeezed it.

“Don't leave me.” Stephanie gasped as she felt their unborn child kick and she pressed James' hand against her bump. “Don't leave us, James.”
