Primeval drabble: Above And Beyond
Title: Above And Beyond
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: James Lester, OC
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For the P100 challenge 261:Devotion. Part of my Dreams Of Yesterday drabble series and it could be considered a prequel to New Domain. Angsty. Thanks to Fred for looking at it for me.
James Lester almost gave a bitter laugh as he listened to his boss praise his performance and offer him the opportunity of a lifetime. The one thing James had been aiming for, what he had dedicated his every action to, for so many years.
“Thank you, sir, but I regret I must decline.”
“James?”
“I've requested a transfer, sir. To the Home Office.”
James' boss slowly nodded. “How is Stephanie?”
James could only shake his head as he found himself unable to form the words to reply.
“I'm sorry, James. I wish you and Stephanie the best.”
“Thank you, sir.”
