Title: Determination
Author: knitekat
Word Count: 100
Characters: James Lester
Rating: 12
Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N: For the P100 challenge 259: No Pain, No Gain. Part of my Dreams Of Yesterday drabble series and follows on from Could Today Get Any Worse? Thanks go to the excellent Fred for looking at it for me.
James took a moment to realise he had reached the bottom of the cliff. He wavered as sickening waves of agony washed over him. All he wanted to do was rest but he resisted the need to collapse.
The cub's whimper broke through the fog clouding James' mind. He had already stood there too long; exposed and bleeding.
The perfect prey for any passing predator.
He had to find safety.
James swore as he jostled his arm, spikes of agony slamming into his brain. He bit his lip, tasting blood, and forced himself to continue moving, to ignore the pain.
