Nick entered the pound, listening to all the dogs bark and whine as he walked past them.

He hadn't wanted to leave James here, but they would not release him to Nick without the documentation required to keep him in the UK.

Nick was just glad that Connor was in on the secret, and had been happy to forge the documents Nick needed.

Handing the papers over to the manager, Nick waited impatiently as well as nervously. If the papers failed he wasn't quite sure how he'd get James out of here.

Following the volunteer down another corridor, he caught sight of James. Looking rather dejected, though he leapt up at the fence and wagged his tail when he saw Nick.

“Well, he seems to know you. He's been a good boy for us.”

Nick couldn't help the grin that spread across his face, “He's a very good boy, aren't you Jamie?”

As the volunteer undid the door, Lester took his chance to glare at Nick.

Nick shrugged, it wasn't his fault James had decided to wander around as the wolf and had been seen. By the time Nick had got there, it had been too late to just claim James back. He had been recognised as a wolf, and in need of a Dangerous Wild Animals Licence for Nick to keep him.

Nick is now the owner of James. *chuckles*
Perhaps he should buy him a dog collar and leash so he can lead him around the next time he wants to wander around in wolf form.

I think if Nick tried that, he'd be rather lonely for a while. Though he'll probably keep the licence incase it happens again.

I think (hope) as a wolf, he'd be more at risk of ending up in a zoo - James would certainly prefer that to your suggestions (g)

It's great to see another installment in the "Under The Moonlight" wolfverse! :-) I think it's hilarious that poor Lester got dragged off to an animal shelter after wandering around as a wolf. I'd hate to think what might have happened if Nick and Connor weren't privy to his secret! I love the fact that Lester can't help leaping up and wagging his tail when he first sees Nick, though he naturally glares at Nick after he makes that crack about "Jamie" being a good boy. *g*

I have no sympathy for James. Mine is reserved for the people in charge of the pound who, I suspect, are about to find their lives becoming very difficult, once James starts getting revenge :D

LOL- they took him to the pound! That's not something you see much in werewolf fics... I wonder if Connor had to forge a fake vaccine record for him. What if they microchipped him? Hehehe
