James smiled and leaned down to kiss Steff. His wife. It felt so good to finally say those words.
Steff grinned up at him. “James, you're grinning like a loon.”
“Why shouldn't I be?” James murmured as he tugged Steff to her feet. “You've made me the happiest man alive.”
“Dear God, James, are you getting soppy on me?” Steff pressed a hand against his forehead.
James snorted. “Would I?” He bowed and held a hand out. “Dance with me, Mrs Lester?”
“My pleasure.”
James was enraptured by Steff's beauty as they whirled around the floor on this perfect night.
