A/N: For the P100 challenge 247: The Odd One Out. Part of my Making An Impression drabble series and follows on from Destroyed His Pedestal. Thanks to Fred for the beta, cheers muchly.
Connor shifted uneasily as Becker briefed his team. Surrounded by heavily armed soldiers, he couldn't help feel the weak, forgotten, useless, bullied geek once more.
What did he have to offer the rescue mission? He wasn't trusted with a gun, not after all his mishaps. He couldn't help believing that Becker would have preferred him to remain at the ARC, but he couldn't, he had to be there when they rescued James.
Connor's lip twitched as he considered another difference between him and the soldiers, at least, he hoped it was – that he loved James and that James loved him.
