“Are Sarah and the boys with you, James?”
James closed his eyes for a moment. “No, mother. We... I felt I should come on ahead.”
“Why? What have you done now.” His father's voice left little hope in James' heart.
James' voice was hollow as he replied, almost mechanically. “We're getting divorced.”
“Oh” His mother gasped.
“She's found out you're a snapper! You just couldn't keep your unnatural urges out of your marriage.”
“No, father. Sarah knew. She's always known.”
“Huh!” James' father raised his eyebrow. “Who'd marry a bloody snapper.”
