James smiled as they ran barefoot, hand-in-hand through the grass. As she tugged him up a slight rise, his breath caught at the view over unspoiled countryside. “I love this place, James. I want to raise our family here.”
He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. “It's lovely.”
Steff pulled free and ruffled his hair. She took off, yelling over her shoulder, “Race you back to the picnic.”
James smiled before chasing after her. Oh, a fine wine and excellent food might make his list of favourite things, but nothing came close to Stephanie.
