James opened the door and gazed out at the snow-covered trees. His nose wrinkled as he took a deep breath, filling his lungs with the frosty air and identifying anything nearby.
“OK, love?”
“It’s beautiful,” James replied. “And so peaceful.”
“I thought you’d like it.”
“I do.” James turned in his lover’s arms. “Did you have anything in mind for today?”
“I thought you’d want to go for a run and then we can have lunch in the village pub.”
“Hmm.”
“Before returning here and snuggling by the fire.”
“Sounds like the start of a wonderful plan, Nick. Thank you.”
