A/N: For P100 prompt 927 - Highlands and Islands. Set in my Bewitched ‘verse and a bit of a sideswipe.
The summons to conduct an investigation wasn’t unexpected, although it was unwelcome. The Council would be looking for someone to blame over the recent Kelpie and other sightings.
“Problem, sir?” Ryan queried from the doorway, one hand half-raised as if to knock.
“Nothing that I can’t handle.”
“Of course, sir.”
Lester glanced up and cursed both silently and very carefully. “I have an urgent meeting in Scotland, captain.” He paused, considering his next words before adding, “Would you care to accompany me?”
“As protection?”
“If you wish,” Lester drawled.
“Where are we going?”
Lester smiled. “Urquhart Castle, near Loch Ness."
