Helen flattened herself against a wall, snarling as the interferring ARC found and stole her supplies. Let them puzzle over them, she would get more. She smiled, if they thought they'd stop her plans...
Her smile faded as she stepped through the anomaly she had opened.
The bustling city she had expected lay empty.
Silent.
Still.
She walked forward, cautiously, her knife in hand.
A crunch had her stop, every sense alert for danger.
Her gaze dropped down for a moment before she gasped. The ground around her was littered with bones.
Small and large.
And all of them human.
