I smiled, Cutter hadn’t realised how accurate he’d been calling me a ‘government hatchet-man’. I’d been sent in when the government wanted problems solved, permanently. I did what needed to be done without fear or favouritism, never hesitating from making the hard decisions.
Or I had.
I might be reluctant to admit the truth, even to myself, but I really couldn’t ignore the evidence. The apples, the 'environmental enhancement' and everything else – I had a soft spot for the mammoth and...
But, how could i not? The bloody beast had saved my life and looking after him was only right.
