Nick wandered along the beach, his gaze flickering between Shadow playing in the shallows and the fallen rock from the cliff face. His experienced eye picking out potential rocks to split open to reveal the prize within.
A bark had Nick look up as Shadow padded over to him, dropping a flat rock by his feet.
"You want me to open this one?" Nick asked, kneeling to examine the rock when Shadow gave a single bark. A single tap and Nick smiled at the beautiful ammonite within, reaching out to run his fingers through Shadow's ruff. "Your eye is improving."
